Taking my uncle to the chiropractor in San Francisco was not a fun task. He had to go because he pulled a muscle while dancing at home. He’s the kind of person who doesn’t really like to see a medical professional for any reason. He has to go to the doctor once a year, and his wife has to practically drag him out of the house for him to go. In a way, he’s like a little kid. I bet when he was a kid, he probably did the same thing that he does now, only he was probably louder.
Since my aunt had to do jury duty, I promised that I would take my uncle to the chiropractor for her. I knew what I was getting myself into when I made this promise, but I figured that I would be able to handle it if I gave my uncle enough incentive to go. The first thing I tried to do was bribe him with his favorite meal. He loves to eat those foot long sandwiches from the local grocery store, and I told him that I would get him two sandwiches if he would go. The sandwiches weren’t enough to bribe him, so I sweetened the pot with a bottle of his favorite wine.
The wine gave me the leverage I needed, and my uncle agreed to go to the chiropractor. We were practically in and out of the chiropractor’s office in less than half an hour. The back problem that my uncle had wasn’t too bad, he would just have to rest his back for a while and everything would be fine. As soon as we left the office, we went right to the store to get the two sandwiches and the bottle of wine. When my aunt came home, she saw my uncle eating one of the sandwiches and drinking a glass of wine and just laughed.
